The Software

Note: The beta period expired on 26/07/2007, so this product will not work at the moment.

Place the license in the <maxroot>/maxToR/ folder.

The software has been tested on 3ds max 8 and 9 (32bit), but hopefully 7 should work too.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)

You need this installed otherwise the plugin will not load, and you will encounter a license validation error.

Renderer-independent. Supports any RenderMan-compliant renderer.
Supports all 3 types of motion blur (transformation, deformation and camera), with unlimited motion segments.
Native support for 3ds max lights (direct, spot, omni), translating many features flawlessly.
Automatic shadow map generation, including Deep shadows, with a high level of control over their generation.
Full animation support.
Full depth of field support.
Built-in RenderMan quadric surface support (RiSphere only for now).

Advanced features
- Exports RIBs for flexible use in pipelines.
- Uses Delayed Read Archives for storage and features an efficient caching mechanism.
- RiCurves support through Splines.
- Unlimited Arbitrary Output Variables (AOV) support for every scene to allow for easy compositing.
- High level of per-object customization (local Shading Rate, Matte, Subdivision surface, etc. overrides)
- Arbitrary per-facevertex data channels are exported
- Level-of-detail and instancing support for all objects.
- RIBBox modifier to allow custom RIB code to be inserted on a per-object basis.
- Full PRMan-compatible ray-tracing support.
